ParcelSort

Privacy policy

Last updated 25 October 2026

ParcelSort is an iPhone app that helps delivery-office staff sort parcels to the right route. This policy explains what information ParcelSort handles, why, and your rights. ParcelSort is provided by Alin Doghi (“we”), contact [email protected].

Who decides how your information is used

ParcelSort is used by companies (such as parcel carriers) for their employees. Your employer decides who is invited and what role they have, and is the controller of the account information about you. We process it on their behalf as a processor. For the ParcelSort pilot and for this website, we are the controller.

Scan statistics don't identify anyone

Scan statistics are counts per office. They do not record who scanned, which phone was used, the recipient, the house number, the postcode or anything else from the label except the street name, and times are rounded to the hour. “Wrong route” reports don't record who sent them. ParcelSort does not measure or report how many parcels an individual scans.

What stays on your iPhone

The camera picture and the text and barcodes read from parcel labels – including recipients' names and addresses – are processed on your iPhone only. They are not stored by ParcelSort and are never sent to us (only the anonymous office counts described above). The list of recent scans (route, street, time), your settings and choices you make on the scan screen are kept only on your phone.

What we don't do

No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no selling of data, no location data, and no monitoring of individual people's work.

Service providers

They process information only to provide their service to us, under data-processing terms.

How long we keep it

Account information is kept while you are a member of a company using ParcelSort. When your company admin removes you, your membership is deleted; your sign-in record is deleted on request. An office catalog and its scan statistics and reports are kept while the office uses ParcelSort. Email delivery logs are kept by our email provider for a limited period.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or object to its use. Your employer's ParcelSort admin can correct or remove your account straight away; you can also contact us at [email protected]. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

ParcelSort is a work tool and is not intended for anyone under 16.
